The Common Engineering team is looking for a highly motivated, energetic, technically driven Hardware Engineer to work in the Continuous Hardware Engineering Group responsible for released Semiconductor Test Systems and Instruments. Position will report to the Hardware Engineering Manager in Costa Rica. This is a job opportunity with a hybrid work model. The candidate will work to analyze, understand and resolve engineering-related design and obsolescence issues in the following state-of-the-art sub-systems: Base System – Power Infrastructure and Communication Interface, Calibration; DC Instruments – including High Density, High Accuracy, High Voltage and Current; AC Instruments – Including High Performance Audio test instruments; Digital Instruments – Including High Speed and High density.
Job Responsibility:
Re-Design instruments to correct engineering defects or replace obsolete components
Technical hardware assessments, requirements and implementation plans
Schematic capture, PCB planning and review
Create and execute design validation plans, including data collection and analysis
Digital, analog and power circuit design, simulation and specification margin analysis
Analyze and debug hardware to the component level
Troubleshoot hardware using System SW Tools
Drive cost down initiatives, product enhancement and new feature implementation projects
Evaluate and implement engineering related yield improvements
Work with cross-functional teams, interface with Account Teams, Global Customer Service, Operations and Supply Line Management
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering OR Mechatronics Engineering
English Proficiency
5 years of experience in: Analog and Digital Circuit design
5 years of experience in: Common lab bench top equipment (scopes, DMMs, function generators, etc.)
5 years of experience in: System and component level troubleshooting
5 years of experience in: C, C++ or Visual Basic
Nice to have:
Proficiency with circuit simulation tools (e.g. IBIS, SPICE)
Scripting, Perl or Python knowledge
Technical lead experience
Great communication skills
Ability to work with cross functional teams
Proven problem-solving and analytical capabilities
