Job Description:

The role will be responsible for the effective delivery of IT Software and Hardware Asset and License Management across IT, using an ITIL framework. You will be a senior lead in defining, implementing, maintaining and continuously improving the IT Asset (ITAM) services, ensuring efficient creation, maintenance and management of the Asset and Configuration Management Data Base (AMDB & CMDB) and CMS tools.

Job Responsibility:

  • Definition, Creation and Implementation of effective processes and controls for Software and Hardware Asset and License Management
  • Enforce and enhance policies, processes and procedures for Software and Hardware Asset Management
  • Ensure the AMDB and CMDB is definitive, up-to-date, accurate and the correct source for all IT Infrastructure hardware and applications
  • Auditing and verifying the integrity of the CMDB, to identify issues with, and improve processes associated to the update of system records
  • Monitors and reports on the Software and Hardware Asset and License Management processes effectiveness and efficiency and recommends improvements as part of a continual service improvement programme
  • Development and maintenance of the Software and Hardware Asset Management plans
  • Identification, classification and specification of all Software and Hardware Asset and configuration items (CIs) with their relationships to other CI’s
  • Identification of ownership and accountability for management for all Software and Hardware Asset CI’s within the AMDB and CMDB
  • Lifecycle management and status accounting for all Software and Hardware Assets Items
  • Support and Management of any assigned resources
  • Working with IT Services to ensure the requirements for new services and technology introduced to the business are understood and successfully implemented within the CMDB
  • Management and enhancement of toolsets for Software and Hardware
  • Development and production of regular reporting

Requirements:

  • Ideally ITIL foundation plus other relevant ITIL intermediate level qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge of IT Software and Hardware Asset Management and Contract and License management principles, processes, standards, new and evolving best practices
  • Significant experience in an IT Service environment, ideally with experience in a financial organisation
  • Proven experience of establishing and improving IT Asset and Configuration Management Processes
  • Operational and best practice experience of the ServiceNow and SNOW toolsets deployment and management, with CMDB schema ideally using the CSDM model with best practice
  • Experience in the development of automated data interfaces to update the CMDB, and the normalisation of data for Software and Hardware
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow discovery with the application of best practices
