Our property estate is a mixture of sizes, ages and services. As we modernise our portfolio of homes; we are refurbishing some with others being brand new, contemporary care homes. With this investment into our property, we need more people with the right mix of skills and passion to ensure that our homes are kept well maintained and safe. As the Handy Person you’ll take pride in the Home that you maintain, including the surrounding gardens. You’ll soon get to know our residents and their families and will let them get involved in helping you to maintain their home.
Job Responsibility:
Maintenance of heating and lighting
Maintenance of the overall fabric of the building
Regular checks on the boiler and water systems
Completing all relevant health and safety checks
Maintaining the home and surrounding gardens
Requirements:
Experience in a similar maintenance role with strong practical skills
Comfortable in an elderly care setting, with the ability to relate to residents in a caring and sensitive manner
Confident working on own initiative
Positive attitude
Good communication skills
Ability to prioritise work schedules to meet the needs of the Home and its residents
Commitment to providing a well-maintained environment
Nice to have:
Level 2 or 3 NVQ in Facilities Services (or equivalent)
