Job Description

As the Handy Person you’ll take pride in the Home that you maintain, including the surrounding gardens. You’ll soon get to know our residents and their families and will let them get involved in helping you to maintain their home. You’ll be responsible for key tasks such as the maintenance of heating and lighting, the overall fabric of the building, regular checks on the boiler and water systems and completing all relevant health and safety checks.

Requirements

  • Experience in a similar maintenance role with strong practical skills
  • Level 2 or 3 NVQ in Facilities Services (or equivalent) but not essential
  • Comfortable in an elderly care setting with ability to relate to residents in a caring and sensitive manner
  • Confident working on own initiative
  • Positive attitude and good communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise work schedules
