We are seeking a Haitian Creole Interpreter to facilitate accurate and effective communication between English-speaking and Haitian Creole-speaking individuals. This is a fully remote, project-based position supporting interpretation and translation services for employment, training, orientation, meetings, human resources, health services, and other operational activities. The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, maintain strict confidentiality, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibility
Provide accurate Haitian Creole ↔ English interpretation services via phone, video, and virtual meetings
Translate written documents while preserving meaning, context, and tone
Support various projects including translation review, editing, voice recordings, and language quality assurance
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional interpretation standards
Collaborate with project teams to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work
Participate in training and assessments as required
Manage multiple assignments and prioritize tasks effectively
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
One year of interpreter/translator experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to pass a language assessment with a score of 90% or higher
Fluency in both Haitian Creole and English (spoken and written)
Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliable internet connection and basic computer proficiency
Nice to have
Certification in Interpretation or Translation
Experience with Microsoft Office applications
Experience using virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams
Knowledge of interpretation and translation best practices
