Review bank statements, investment records, and related financial documents for guardianship cases to confirm transactions align with applicable statutes and court directives
Analyze case-specific financial activity and prepare clear summaries of audit results, including recommendations for corrective action or additional court review when needed
Gather, organize, and track supporting documentation required for each audit assignment to maintain complete and accurate case files
Build audit schedules, spreadsheets, and work papers that document testing performed, exceptions identified, and conclusions reached
Evaluate submitted reports for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with guardianship reporting standards
Communicate with attorneys, guardians, and other involved parties to address deficiencies, request clarification, and support timely resolution of outstanding issues
Maintain detailed records within audit, case management, and enterprise resource planning systems to support reporting and case oversight
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, economics, information technology, or a related field
At least two years of experience in auditing, financial analysis, or a similar analytical role, or an equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and experience
Working knowledge of financial audit practices, internal audit principles, and documentation standards
Ability to review financial statements, identify irregularities, and assess compliance with policies, statutes, and court orders
Experience using audit software, case management systems, and enterprise resource planning platforms
Strong spreadsheet, reporting, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple case reviews accurately
Effective written and verbal communication skills for presenting findings and working with attorneys, guardians, and court-related stakeholders
