Job Responsibility

  • Review bank statements, investment records, and related financial documents for guardianship cases to confirm transactions align with applicable statutes and court directives
  • Analyze case-specific financial activity and prepare clear summaries of audit results, including recommendations for corrective action or additional court review when needed
  • Gather, organize, and track supporting documentation required for each audit assignment to maintain complete and accurate case files
  • Build audit schedules, spreadsheets, and work papers that document testing performed, exceptions identified, and conclusions reached
  • Evaluate submitted reports for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with guardianship reporting standards
  • Communicate with attorneys, guardians, and other involved parties to address deficiencies, request clarification, and support timely resolution of outstanding issues
  • Maintain detailed records within audit, case management, and enterprise resource planning systems to support reporting and case oversight

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, economics, information technology, or a related field
  • At least two years of experience in auditing, financial analysis, or a similar analytical role, or an equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and experience
  • Working knowledge of financial audit practices, internal audit principles, and documentation standards
  • Ability to review financial statements, identify irregularities, and assess compliance with policies, statutes, and court orders
  • Experience using audit software, case management systems, and enterprise resource planning platforms
  • Strong spreadsheet, reporting, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple case reviews accurately
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for presenting findings and working with attorneys, guardians, and court-related stakeholders
