As a D2C mattress brand in Japan, strategic online advertising, affiliate advertising, and SEO are critical for sustainable growth. The Growth Marketing Team leader will be essential in driving innovative performance media marketing, affiliate, and SEO strategies to optimize product and brand positioning in the market. This role will utilize a data-driven approach to maximize ROI and ensure effective customer acquisition and retention, positioning the company to respond swiftly and effectively to market changes and enhance our industry leadership.
Job Responsibility:
Plan and manage performance media operations to ensure revenue growth, efficiency, and profitability
Drive paid media traffic to the site and analyze site traffic to enhance business performance
Lead the creation of innovative performance creative assets to drive sessions and revenue
Ensure all creative work aligns with brand goals and performance metrics
Establish routines for analyzing and optimizing ad creatives based on data-driven insights
Evaluate and optimize performance creative and media buying strategies to maximize ROI
Develop and implement email marketing strategies to engage and retain customers
Oversee the creation, scheduling, and optimization of email campaigns
Analyze KPIs to measure email campaign effectiveness and optimize content and targeting
Manage the email marketing budget to maximize ROI
Develop and implement strategies to maximize the number of positive reviews
Develop and implement affiliate marketing strategies to drive traffic and increase sales
Monitor and analyze affiliate performance to identify areas for improvement
Negotiate and manage relationships with affiliate partners
Manage all aspects of SEO, including keyword research, site audits, content optimization, and link building
Collaborate with teams to align affiliate and SEO strategies with business goals
Serve as a liaison between growth marketing and brand/sales teams to ensure alignment on objectives
Work collaboratively with team members to lead initiatives and ensure business impact
Lead budget allocation planning across BAU, campaigns, and channels
Oversee platform, tracking, and campaign setups
Stay abreast of trends in Affiliate, SEO, Search, Social, and Programmatic channels
Deeply understand Japanese consumer, purchasing, and media consumption behaviors
Prepare and present performance reports detailing success metrics and ROI
Requirements:
7+ years of experience in performance or growth marketing, with a proven track record of scaling a fast growth DTC brand, preferably on a brand with high AOV
Bilingual Japanese (N1 level) and English (business fluent) speaking preferably
Hands-on expertise across paid marketing mix, in particular Paid Social (Meta, TikTok), SEM (Google Ads)
experience across Affiliates, CTV/YouTube, Direct Mail also a strong plus
Strong leadership skills with direct experience leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing marketing teams
Data driven approach and high proficiency with analytics and attribution tools (e.g., Northbeam, Google Analytics, Shopify Analytics, Polar)
Strategic thinker with a strong understanding of performance driven creative, with experience partnering closely with creative teams to develop and execute best in class ad concepts
Strong understanding of business metrics and goal setting, with experience owning or contributing to P&L accountability
Proactive and thrives in fast-paced, lean environments, with a hands-on approach to driving work forward and delivering results
Strong communicator and collaborator that is able to translate data into clear strategies, influence senior stakeholders, and align teams around shared goals
