Job Description

We are currently seeking a motivated Assistant Grower to support our crop production team in Holland, Michigan. Reporting to the Grower, the Assistant Grower plays a hands-on role in ensuring plant health, quality, and readiness for market. This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to grow their careers in commercial horticulture while gaining experience in large-scale greenhouse operations.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist with all crop care activities including watering, fertilizing, spacing, pruning, and product movement
  • Monitor plants daily for pests, diseases, and growth performance
  • escalate issues to the Grower
  • Apply pest control treatments under supervision and maintain accurate spray logs
  • Ensure proper product placement in the greenhouse to optimize space and plant health
  • Support quality control checks for orders prior to shipping
  • Maintain greenhouse cleanliness and follow all safety standards
  • Assist in inventory tracking of fertilizers, chemicals, and grown materials
  • Ensure optimal greenhouse conditions, including ventilation, lighting, temperature, and humidity control
  • Communicate effectively with team leads and grower on daily priorities and changes

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a greenhouse, or horticulture setting preferred
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for plant care
  • Ability to follow directions and escalate issues appropriately
  • Physically able to work in a greenhouse environment (lift up to 50 lbs, high humidity, standing for long periods)
  • Flexible to work extended hours on Saturdays or evenings during peak periods
  • Fluent in English (Spanish is an asset)
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow within the team
