Job Responsibility:
Deliver key aspects of the half-year and year-end group tax reporting cycle, including operation of SOX controls
Prepare and lead aspects of our internal tax forecasting, and the CbCR and Pillar 2 compliance
Be a ‘tax’ business partner with a portfolio of local markets
Preparation of the group’s effective tax rate calculations, deferred tax calculations, and disclosure
In-year and future-year ETR and cash-tax forecasting, including scenario planning
The group’s external Total Economic Contribution reporting
Operating and monitoring KPIs on local market reporting compliance
The collation and review of the group’s tax risks, and supporting related governance processes
Summarising complex information for senior stakeholders
Be a ‘tax’ business partner with local teams
Support the maintenance and improvement of the systems and data that underpin the tax reporting and control processes
Requirements:
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
Comfortable using Large Language Models / AI
ACA/ACCA/CTA or equivalent qualifications with 5 years’ post qualification experience, including at least 2 years’ experience in tax accounting/reporting
In-house experience is desirable
Strong written and oral communication skills, able to summarise complex explanations, issues and proposed solutions to diverse audiences
Exceptional organisational skills, able to manage concurrent workstreams and internal and external stakeholders, such as our statutory auditors
Strong tax accounting knowledge, including experience designing, improving and operating SOX controls and maintaining robust evidence
Experience supporting and coordinating others through structured delivery (e.g., timetable-driven reporting cycles)
A ‘change’ and ‘solution lead’ mindset, with curiosity for enabling technology (data quality, automation and analytics) that improves control, insight and efficiency
Experience of working in a Group Tax reporting environment in a multinational company
A good working knowledge of the tax rules in one jurisdiction, along with a basic working knowledge of the Pillar 2 rules
Good working knowledge of HFM and Longview Tax Provision is highly desirable
experience with other enterprise performance management, reporting and/or tax technology solutions is also valuable
