Job Description:

Our client is a well-established and successful group business within the commercial sector. They are now looking for a Head of IT to define and lead the group-wide digital transformation journey.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop, define, and execute a new group-wide IT strategy, digital transformation roadmap, ensuring full alignment with business objectives
  • Work closely with senior business stakeholders (including board members), to define project priorities, secure buy-in, manage expectations, and champion change management across multiple business entities
  • Lead, mentor, and upgrade the existing IT department and its operations, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Act as the lead technical expert
  • investigate business pain points, analyze legacy workflows, and provide technical oversight to implement practical, modern solutions (e.g., Automation, AI, modern ERP/CRM) that improve operational efficiency
  • Assume full ownership of the IT budget (CAPEX/OPEX), resource planning, project timelines, and vendor management, ensuring projects are delivered successfully

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or above in Computer Science/Business Administration or a related discipline
  • 15+ years of experience in the IT field with a well-rounded background in digital transformation
  • must have taken a key role in successfully leading the transformation journey for an enterprise/group business (especially for back office)
  • Significant experience in a senior leadership role (minimum Senior Manager or above) managing IT department with a background in the commercial sector
  • Exceptional business acumen and stakeholder management skills
  • A strong ability to communicate, present, and build trusted relationships with senior, non-technical leaders to guide strategic decisions
  • A proactive and forward-thinking mindset with strong knowledge and passion for leveraging modern technology to solve business challenges
  • Knowledge of leading project implementation, change management and industry best practices/standards
  • Proficiency in speaking both Cantonese, English, and Mandarin, and currently based in Hong Kong with a valid work permit
  • Experience in planning and developing the annual budget (CAPEX/OPEX), timeline, and manpower
  • Good interpersonal, presentation, and problem-solving skills

Nice to have:

  • Exposure in businesses with both Hong Kong and China's entities would be advantageous
  • PMP certification is a plus
