Job Description:

We are seeking an action orientated Group Head of Accounting to lead Aurecon’s financial and statutory reporting and drive continued transformation across our finance and shared services functions. In this senior leadership role, you’ll combine technical expertise with strategic thinking to deliver across a diversified portfolio. You’ll represent finance at senior levels, partner with senior stakeholders, and lead a high-performing team to shape Aurecon’s future.

Job Responsibility:

  • Own group consolidation and statutory reporting
  • lead external audit and ensure high‑quality, timely deliverables
  • Strengthen governance and controls across entities, uplift policies, procedures, and the operating rhythm for reporting deadlines
  • Prepare board and committee papers, translating performance, risk, and outlook into clear, actionable insights
  • Drive finance transformation: streamline processes, improve data integrity, and implement automation to speed cycle times, provide business intelligence, and enhance accuracy
  • Lead ESG disclosures and climate reporting, collaborating cross‑functionally to align with sustainability objectives
  • Provide commercial finance leadership for business cases, capex planning, tender support, and ad‑hoc strategic initiatives
  • Provide leadership and direction to an established onshore and offshore team, fostering collaboration and driving capability uplift across functions
  • Support integration and change (e.g., M&A, systems upgrades), ensuring continuity, standardisation, and scalable processes

Requirements:

  • CA/CPA qualified with extensive experience in group finance leadership roles, preferably in professional services
  • 10+ years in senior finance positions, including oversight of multi-entity reporting and governance
  • Strong background in strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling
  • Experience driving finance transformation, process optimisation, and system improvements. Technology savvy
  • Demonstrated ability to engage at board level, influence decisions, and partner with senior stakeholders
  • Skilled in leading and developing high-performing teams, including offshore capability uplift
  • Commercial and operational acumen with a track record of supporting business growth and strategic initiatives
  • Ability to lead ESG disclosures and climate reporting, collaborating cross‑functionally to align with sustainability objectives
