The transformation of BT’s financial control framework is a key objective of the BT board and Executive Committee. This role is critical in ensuring that transformation programs deliver improvements in the efficiency and effectiveness our financial controls and maintain the integrity of BT’s financial reporting.
Job Responsibility:
Set objectives, define accountabilities and drive towards best practice for finance control delivery within major transformation programs
Actively horizon scanning to identify transformation programs that may impact BT’s financial control framework and ensuring appropriate risk / impact assessments are completed
Pro-actively identifying relevant stakeholders and raising their awareness of financial control through training, policies and guidance
Working with transformation teams, unit compliance teams and other key stakeholders to ensure clear accountability for financial control within transformation programs
Providing transformation teams with expert guidance on best practice for financial control design and implementation and ensuring compliance with relevant internal and external policies and regulation
Reporting on the status of financial control delivery within major transformation programs
Recommends policies and standards for financial control
Recommends whether transformation programmes have met the required standards for financial control
Requirements:
Professionally qualified accountant, risk manager, auditor or equivalent experience
Comfortable working in a large organisation where activities are managed according to a matrix structure
Able to work collaboratively and influence others to achieve goals
Translating technical and business challenges to senior leaders and key stakeholders through both oral and written communication
Ability to understand, dedupe and explain complex process, systems and controls
Bias towards bold and confident thinking, challenging the status quo where appropriate
Able to deal with ambiguity, identify resources to implement and determine pragmatic solutions
Able to prioritise work and work independently on core deliverables
