As our Group Executive Pastry Chef, you will be the visionary driving the culinary direction of our restaurant and mentoring our team. Aqua Shard brings the essence of modern London with inventive, British cuisine and carefully crafted cocktails to Level 31 of The Shard. We serve lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and brunch against a backdrop of stunning panoramic views of London.

Job Responsibility:

  • Culinary Expertise: Create recipes for success and guide the kitchen in creating and presenting authentic and innovative dishes, ensuring each menu item reflects the highest standards of quality, flavour, and presentation while embracing traditional techniques and seasonal ingredients
  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and inspire the culinary team, fostering a positive and collaborative environment, overseeing staff training, and conducting performance evaluations to promote professional growth and culinary excellence
  • Operational Management: Ensure efficient kitchen operations by managing inventory, controlling food costs, maintaining cleanliness, and upholding food safety and hygiene standards, while actively engaging in menu development, special events, and overall culinary strategy

  • Work with Director – Field Recruiting and other Regional Recruiters to develop and maintain a “Recruiting Toolbox” of ideas, flyers, brochures, and methods that can be modified and adapted to each hiring need and region as appropriate. Includes creating a “Resource Binder” of all existing (and ongoing new) recruiting techniques and resources, contact names and numbers, frequency, effectiveness, etc.
  • Assist in the development of a “policy and procedure” for the recruiting process to build consistency and continuity, as well as ensure full utilization of all available resources
  • Provide support, training and assistance to branch staff within region in managing applicant tracking within the automated applicant tracking system, as well as managing specific areas of ATS related to recruiting activities (i.e., posting job openings, etc.)
