This is an exciting opportunity for a financial analyst to join the Capital Planning team, within Group Finance. The Capital Planning team plays a crucial role in helping ensure the Group's solvency position is managed appropriately to maintain the long-term stability of the Group whilst providing our customers with the products they need. The Capital Planning team's core purpose involves forecasting Own Funds and modelling Solvency. This means we have exposure to a broad range of different activities crucial to the way the Group operates and makes us a great place to learn about Finance, Treasury, Risk Management and Modelling. This role will suit someone who enjoys the analysis of complex financial information, who is good at problem solving and can deliver under pressure. You'll be organised, inquisitive and have an appetite to change and improve processes. As a key member of the Capital Planning team, you will support the development and enhancement of financial models that deliver critical business activities including solvency forecasting, stress testing, dividend planning, and strategic decision-making.
Job Responsibility:
Supporting the production of Group and insurance subsidiary capital plans, including multi-year solvency forecasts and stress testing outputs
Assisting with the analysis of capital and solvency positions, including movements in SCR, own funds, and surplus
Contributing to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of capital planning models and supporting tools
Preparing high-quality analysis and commentary for internal governance forums, senior management, and other stakeholders
Maintaining strong data quality, documentation, and controls across capital planning processes in line with Solvency UK requirements
Supporting stress and scenario testing exercises to assess capital resilience and inform risk management discussions
Working collaboratively with Finance, Actuarial, and Risk teams to explain results, resolve issues, and meet delivery deadlines
Identifying and implementing opportunities to improve processes, controls, and reporting through automation and efficiency initiatives
Requirements:
Qualified Accountant
Experience analysing large datasets to inform decision-making
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
Confident working with senior and cross-functional stakeholders
Clear written and verbal communication
Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and take ownership
Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
Nice to have:
Experience in Financial services (nice to have but not essential)
Exposure to Regulatory reporting
