Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Group Secretariat & Corporate Governance team as an Assistant Company Secretary, supporting the effective governance of the Bank. You will work closely with the Deputy Group Company Secretary to deliver trusted advice and high quality secretariat support to Board Committees. This role offers strong exposure to senior stakeholders and a chance to deepen your experience in corporate governance within a complex, regulated environment while contributing to meaningful, organisation-wide decision-making.

Job Responsibility

  • Act as Secretary to key Board Committees, planning and delivering agendas, coordinating papers, and producing clear, decision-focused minutes
  • Manage forward schedules and action logs, ensuring decisions are followed through and delivered in line with governance requirements
  • Lead Committee effectiveness evaluations, coordinating inputs and identifying actions to strengthen performance
  • Support the ongoing development of the Group's governance framework, working with stakeholders to improve clarity, consistency and effectiveness
  • Enable strong communication between Boards, Committees and senior leadership, ensuring timely and well-judged information flow

Requirements

  • Relevant third level qualification, ideally, ICSA or relevant legal or business qualification
  • Experience operating at Board or Executive level, with confidence, sound judgement and the ability to provide constructive challenge
  • Comfortable navigating complex governance environments and can interpret regulatory requirements in a practical way
  • Communicates clearly and builds trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leaders and Non-Executive Directors
  • Highly organised and can manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical skills, enabling you to distil complex discussions into clear, concise outputs that support effective decision-making
  • Proactive and thoughtful approach will help you identify opportunities to improve governance processes and contribute to wider team goals

  • Be responsible for building and leading a team supporting other Alter Domus offices with their company secretarial tasks
