Requirements

Several years post-qualified in a recognised accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA)
Ideally, experience of IFRS 9 (or relevant other regulatory) investment accounting processes
Demonstrated ability to support and enhance financial processes and controls, including identifying opportunities for improvement, and driving implementation providing actionable insights, and maintaining clear and accurate process documentation
Experience of working with and driving improvements in reporting systems, including managing and maintaining standing data
Able to interpret accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and present impact assessments to senior management
Proactive and self-motivated, with a collaborative mindset and a “can-do” attitude
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong working relationships including communicating insights effectively to senior stakeholders
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables
Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities

Job Responsibility

Investment Accounting: Work closely with the cash and investment management and accounting teams across the group to ensure a smooth, efficient and well controlled reporting process, with appropriate oversight to ensure accurate, compliant and transparent management information
Financial Statements: Draft/review financial statement notes for inclusion in the Group’s annual report, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS
Process & Control Improvements: Drive enhancements in reporting processes and documentation, with a particular focus on strengthening controls
Entity-Level Reporting: Coordinate and review group submissions for specific Group entities, ensuring timely submissions and resolving accounting queries in line with the Group timetable
Analytical Review: Perform regular reviews of financial data across the Group to identify trends and support the production of high-quality management information for internal boards, committees, and external stakeholders
Group Consolidation: Support the Group consolidation process, including preparation of consolidation journals
Audit Liaison: Build strong working relationships with external auditors, managing key deliverables and facilitating smooth communication across business areas
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across Finance, Investments, Risk, and other Group functions to ensure alignment and shared understanding
Ad-Hoc Support: Provide flexible support to Group and UK Finance teams as needed, contributing to wider team goals

Requirements

ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
Significant experience in large companies (ideally complex, multi-entity group environments)
Experience of tax in a large corporate environment

Job Responsibility

Own the month-end close and Group consolidation, producing concise packs across P&L, balance sheet, working capital, cash flow and capex
Take the lead on the Annual Report & Accounts financial statements, notes and all supporting schedules and be our go-to for technical accounting
Run a smooth external audit process and support the Director of Finance with well-crafted Audit Committee papers
Set clear reporting instructions and timetables, coordinating with finance and wider teams so submissions land on time
Oversee completion of all subsidiary statutory accounts and keep our accounting policies fully aligned to IFRS
Maintain strong controls and reconciliations over key accounts, including intercompany balances
Partner with our Finance Systems Manager to get the best from the Navision consolidation system and continuously improve how we report
Help simplify the corporate structure, including winding up dormant entities where appropriate
Work closely with the Head of Financial Compliance & Controls to strengthen processes and the overall control environment

Qualified Accountant (CA / ACA / ACCA)
Ideally with experience or training in a professional services firm and/or corporate, group reporting background
Strong understanding and experience of external audit processes and requirements
Ideally have strong experience in delivery of Group and subsidiary statutory financial statements under IFRS, preferably with exposure to FTSE listed reporting requirements
