Group Accountant (Listed Company). The Organization: We are a leading Mainboard-listed company and a prominent player in the Malaysian market, headquartered in Subang Jaya. With a diverse portfolio and a commitment to excellence, we take pride in our robust corporate governance and transparent financial reporting. We are looking for a meticulous and high-caliber finance professional to join our Group Finance team to drive consolidation and compliance standards. The Role: The Group Accountant will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of the Group's financial consolidation and statutory reporting. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will ensure that all financial information across the Group's subsidiaries is accurate, timely, and in full compliance with Bursa Malaysia listing requirements and current accounting standards.

Job Responsibility

  • Perform monthly and yearly Group consolidation, including the preparation of consolidation schedules, elimination journals, and adjustments
  • Ensure all financial statements are prepared in accordance with MFRS/IFRS and the Malaysian Companies Act
  • Coordinate and prepare the quarterly announcement packages and annual reports for timely submission to Bursa Malaysia
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, managing the audit timeline and ensuring minimal audit findings
  • Maintain and strengthen the internal control framework (including SOX where applicable) to safeguard Group assets and ensure data integrity
  • Assist in the development and rollout of Group-wide accounting policies to ensure standardization across all business units
  • Assist the Finance Manager in analyzing departmental and subsidiary KPIs to track performance against the Group's strategic objectives
  • Identify opportunities to streamline the reporting cycle through ERP enhancements (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or LucaNet)
  • Support corporate exercises, including tax planning and cash flow monitoring to optimize the Group's financial position

Requirements

  • Member of MIA, ACCA, CPA Australia, or MICPA
  • Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in accounting and finance
  • Must have Big 4 External Audit experience (at least at the Assistant Manager level)
  • Significant commercial experience in a Mainboard-listed company handling Group Consolidation and Bursa reporting
  • Expert-level knowledge of MFRS/IFRS and Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements
  • High proficiency in SAP, Oracle, or dedicated consolidation software like LucaNet
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for complex financial modeling and data analysis

  • Involvement in regulatory returns for the UK underwriter, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant regulatory submissions, and working closely with actuarial and risk teams to validate underlying data and assumptions
  • Assist with testing key insurance controls across the Group, including helping to carry out test procedures, documenting findings, and supporting the team in following up on any actions needed
  • Support wider Group Finance activities by contributing to cross‑functional projects, providing technical advice, and completing ad‑hoc tasks and analysis as required.
