The primary purpose of this position is to maintain campus grounds, use landscaping material, equipment and accessories, and remove snow and ice from campus facilities. This position is a Local 615, 32BJ Service Employees International Union (SEIU) position. The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM.
Job Responsibility:
Perform outdoor work in a variety of climate conditions
Respond to emergency call-in situations
Maintain campus lawns and flower beds
Prune and cultivate plants, shrubs and ornamental / non ornamental trees
Maintain athletic fields, to include but not limited to: baseball, softball, soccer, lacrosse, track areas and tennis courts
Plow, brush, treat and maintain all surfaces before, during, and after all snow/storm events
Use hand tools and snow blowers to remove snow and ice from stairs, walks and ramps
Install, repair, and maintain asphalt or concrete and other construction materials
Perform Trash pickup/maintenance and litter control
Act as a member of cross functional team, play an important role in major University events, including Commencement, Reunion, Open Houses, Move In, Move Out, etc.

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent
Work Experience: 2 years of related experience in general grounds keeping
Licenses: Valid and current United States Driver’s License Required, Massachusetts Hoisting License 1C/2A Required, DOT Medical Certificate
