Grounds Maintenance Operative

• Carry out necessary works to ensure parks, gardens, open spaces, cemeteries and grass sports facilities are well maintained and kept tidy
• Litter picking
• Planting shrubs, hedges, perennial and seasonal bedding
• Maintaining flower, shrub beds and hedges
• Inspect areas of land as required
• Maintain grass general amenity areas and grass sports areas using pedestrian and ride on mowing equipment

• Reliable, flexible and self-motivated individual
• Able to work under supervisory instruction and follow processes and procedures
• Basic literacy skills to fill out relevant paperwork
• Ideally have a driving licence
• Able to work on your own or as part of a team
• Good communication skills
• Aware of Health and Safety requirements, hazardous materials etc
• Previous experience is desirable although not essential
• Flexible to provide cover at weekends and out of normal working hours when required
