Grounds Maintenance Operative

• Maintain all grassed areas, hedges, and shrub beds to the recognised standard using powered hand tools and ride-on mowers
• Undertake plant protection product application, garden clearances, watercourse management and equipment maintenance as required
• Liaise with the Senior Grounds Maintenance Operative to ensure work schedules are up to date and adjusted accordingly

• A recognised Horticultural qualification level 2 or 3 (City and Guilds) or equivalent
• Full, current, valid driving licence with B + E Trailer entitlement or equivalent
• Relevant experience and knowledge in all types of grounds maintenance (green space) work
• Relevant experience of working with powered hand tools (Brush cutters, hedge cutters, blowers) and ride-on mowers
• Experience of working in extreme temperatures and conditions due to seasonal weather conditions
• Able to work as part of a team and also able to work independently without the need for close supervision
• Excellent time management skills, including an ability to prioritise workload and meet agreed deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, possessing the ability to liaise with various audiences
• Ability to use a mobile device (mobile phone/tablet) to manage workload, send and receive emails, access apps and MS Teams for meetings / training
• Subject to a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service check

Holds a Front Loader qualification and NPTC Units NPTC PA1 + PA6

• Working Hours - 37 hours per week (Monday to Thursday 7.00am to 15.00pm, Friday 7.00am to 14.00pm)
