Job Description

Great new opportunity for a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our team at Gatwick Airport working on a variety of sites across the site and Gatwick Campus. You will be joining a company that can offer valuable career prospects and believes in investing in its people.

Job Responsibility

  • Support environmental commitments to create an integrated plan
  • Find and undertake alternative solutions to herbicide usage
  • Protect and increase biodiversity across the estate
  • Undertake grounds maintenance work including use and operation of road sweepers and other mechanical operations
  • Mowing large grassed areas, strimming, blowing, hedge trimming
  • General maintenance to shrub beds, hedge cutting, hard surface spraying operations and river bank maintenance where required

Requirements

  • Full, clean driving licence
  • Experience of driving light commercial vehicles and towing trailers is desirable
  • Reliable and conscientious
  • Can-do attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Previous experience of grounds maintenance work, horticultural tasks and use of handheld machinery is desirable
