Job Description:

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our Green Spaces team as Grounds Maintenance Operative with Bridgend County Borough Council. In this rewarding role, you will maintain the beauty and safety of community green spaces, operate various grounds maintenance equipment, and deliver high-quality services as part of a team.

Job Responsibility:

Play a key role in maintaining the beauty and safety of our community's green spaces
Operate a variety of equipment, including ride-on mowers, pedestrian mowers, strimmers, and blowers
Work as part of a team to deliver high-quality grass cutting and grounds maintenance services
Engage with the public, providing excellent customer service and responding to inquiries

Requirements:

A reasonable standard of education and demonstrable competence through experience in grounds maintenance
Experience working outdoors in all weather conditions
Knowledge of Bridgend County Borough's geography
A strong understanding of health and safety practices
Experience using hand tools, mowers, strimmers, blowers, ride-on mowers, and trailers
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with the public and councillors
The ability to work safely on highways, following Chapter 8 regulations
