We have exciting opportunities for Ground Investigation Engineers to join the UK’s largest and most diverse geotechnical and ground engineering contractor. Job Responsibility:
Gather geotechnical and geoenvironmental data from a wide range of work environments across the UK
Undertake geotechnical analytical work, from planning, execution and reporting of Geo-Environmental and Geotechnical site investigations
Managing geotechnical project data to drive project deliverables
Assist with various field activities including assessment and analysis of geotechnical conditions and investigations
Involvement in laboratory testing programmes for soil and rock samples
Prepare and assist with reviewing, analysing and interpreting geotechnical data
Assist with report writing and technical notes
Undertake Research & Development projects including developing innovative engineering tools and solutions
Implement operational quality control measures and quality assurance processes
Take a proactive approach in the responsibility for Health and Safety
Attend regular meetings with internal and external parties
Assist with soil and groundwater risk assessments, liaising with clients
Working collaboratively with engineers and others to deliver quality reports
Reflect and promote Van Elle company values through your work and conduct
Requirements:
A minimum 2:2 BSc (Hons) in Geology, Civil Engineering or related subject
Previous practical ground investigation or relevant construction experience
Knowledge of ground investigation techniques and BS5930
Experience with geotechnical data management software packages (Openground/Holebase/Gint/Pebble Geo)
IT competent in Microsoft packages
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to work effectively to deadlines and under pressure
Good attention to detail and accuracy of work
Effective planning and organisation skills
A structured approach to problem solving
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Awareness of the relevant legal and safety regulations
Eligible to work and live in the UK
Flexibility to travel across the UK
A full driving licence, that is valid in the UK
Valid CSCS
Nice to have:
Experience with AutoCAD/Microsoft Visio
Experience with GPS/GNSS survey equipment
Experience driving larger vehicles such as 4x4s and vans
