Job Description

As our Grocery Buyer you will own the aisle - taking full responsibility for purchasing across our Grocery categories using SAP. From supplier to shelf, you'll ensure the right products are in the right place at the right time.

Job Responsibility

  • Ensuring our customers can get what they want, when they want it
  • Analysing sales, trends, and stock movements to drive smart buying and ranging decisions
  • Monitoring inventory levels – proactively actioning gaps, overstocks and supplier follow-ups
  • Managing in-store promotional activity and ensuring strong execution
  • Working closely with suppliers to secure great deals
  • Supporting the retail operations team – after all, they bring your work to life on the shelf

Requirements

  • Proven experience with large scale buying (FMCG buying experience a bonus)
  • Strong commercial acumen and confidence working with data to make and support decisions
  • Solid computer skills, including Excel (SAP experience is a bonus)
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels
  • High attention to detail, integrity and the ability to think outside the square
  • Understanding of the Grocery Supply Code a bonus
  • Previous experience as a buyer in a large format retail environment is essential
