Job Description:

This position provides support to the RHI Magnesita York facility by properly operating equipment within specified parameters, SAP records, and by following all safe work practices. Our successful team members are self-starters who can work independently without direct supervision. Employee will be responsible to see that our Safety and Quality policies are strictly adhered to, supply the entire manufacturing processes with raw feed.

Job Responsibility:

  • Controlling material flow to produce rotary kiln raw feed that meets established quality standards
  • Monitor storage bin levels to assess need and route excess accordingly
  • Operate vibratory screens, conveyors and mobile equipment including a skid steer and forklift
  • Perform daily clean-up which can be extensive and includes vacuuming, extensive shoveling, using high pressure hoses to clean out troughs, use jack hammer, etc.
  • Communicate to the quarry and rotary personnel as to the status of the Grinding Plant
  • Inspect plant equipment and fill out daily checklist according to procedures
  • Responsible for cleanliness, upkeep and maintenance of equipment and work areas
  • Report any near miss, damage, safety concern or injury utilizing the safety tracking system
  • Works overtime and or different shifts as needed to cover for others in the department while on leave or vacation
  • Effective and open communication with all team members

Requirements:

  • Ability to follow direction
  • MSHA Training kept current with all rules and regulations followed
  • Job requires: standing, lifting, walking, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling and climbing
  • climbing ladders or stairs up to 3 or 4 stories several times per shift
  • lifting and carrying up to 75 pounds
  • wearing all personal protective equipment required to do the job (including hard hat, foam sealed safety glasses, safety shoes, gloves)
  • Heavy mobile equipment experience is a plus (loader, excavator)
  • Work in a variety of working conditions including, but not limited to heat, cold, dust, noise, high elevations and confined spaces
  • Accuracy of paperwork, data entries, shift data, computerized work time entry, etc.
  • Basic computer knowledge with Microsoft Excel, E-mail, and SAP.

Nice to have:

Heavy mobile equipment experience is a plus (loader, excavator)
