GENERAL SUMMARY As a key team member, this role will be responsible for the operation of our cylindrical grinders and surface grinder in the production of parts for our Product. Including self-inspection of operations carried out and inspection of finished goods from the machine to ensure process control is maintained. Responsible for following all health and safety codes which involve machinery.

Job Responsibility

  • Operate cylindrical grinders and small surface grinder
  • Operate various manual machinery (drill, mill, broach, lathe to name a few) to give flexibility where required
  • De-burr and washout of various parts throughout production process where required
  • Review and update setups and working methods / procedures including SOP's
  • Quality assurance inspection of parts according to drawings and requirements
  • Maintain efficiency records of equipment
  • Perform safety and housekeeping tasks
  • Perform all machine set up duties
  • Maintain machines daily and perform preventative maintenance tasks where required
  • Participate in any EHS activities including Risk assessments within manufacture
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities to drive improvements
  • Training – will be required to be involved in further training and to provide training to peers and apprentices
  • Implement and improve the company's Quality system
  • Will be required to work in other areas as and when required

Requirements

  • Qualified in material removal in such areas as cylindrical grinding
  • Time served apprenticeship in manufacture, NC / HMC level or equivalent
  • Knowledge of manufacturing drawings and processes
  • Strong numeracy/mathematical skills are essential
  • Must be capable of operating manual machinery including jib cranes
  • You must have valid right to work in the UK to apply for this role
