Robert Half Finance & Accounting has partnered with a leading healthcare provider as they look for an experienced Grants Accountant to join their team in Toledo. This role is essential to maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with grant regulations. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting expertise and a proactive approach to managing financial operations.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports, including month-end close procedures
  • Manage general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy in journal entries
  • Oversee all aspects of grant accounting, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations
  • Administer grant funds, tracking expenditures and preparing reports for stakeholders
  • Conduct regular audits of financial records to identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making
  • Ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures in all accounting activities
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts for grant-funded projects
  • Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and grant regulations

Requirements

  • Around 2+ years of accounting experience, with a focus on grants or nonprofit organizations
  • Proficiency in month-end close procedures
  • Experience in grant accounting and administration, including compliance monitoring
  • Ability to analyze financial data and identify trends or discrepancies
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance is preferred, but NOT REQUIRED (grant experience is top priority!)
