We are looking for an experienced Grant Writer to support a collaborative funding application effort in Virginia. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who can organize complex submission requirements, gather input from multiple stakeholders, and produce a strong, persuasive final application. The person in this role will help guide the application process from initial review through final submission while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and timely progress.
Job Responsibility:
Examine the released funding guidance and summarize key updates, requirements, and implications for the application strategy.
Build a detailed application schedule in partnership with leadership and stakeholders, then align milestones with internal approval expectations.
Develop or revise supplemental materials for project applicants so submitted information supports the broader collaborative response.
Assess existing organizational documents and source materials to determine how they can be used to answer application questions effectively.
Identify outstanding content, narratives, and supporting details needed from leadership and participating members to complete the submission.
Coordinate information requests through the designated liaison, setting clear deadlines and following up to keep the process on track.
Partner with the program lead to obtain, organize, and interpret required system-level data for inclusion in the application.
Assemble all narrative and supporting content into a unified application package that is accurate, complete, and aligned across sections.
Circulate draft versions to appropriate reviewers, incorporate feedback, and refine the final narrative for clarity and impact.
Support entry of final responses into the required submission platform before the official deadline and verify completeness prior to submission.
Requirements:
Demonstrated experience preparing and administering grant applications, preferably for collaborative or public-sector funding opportunities.
Working knowledge of HUD-related grant processes and the documentation standards associated with formal submissions.
Strong grant writing skills with the ability to transform complex information into clear, compelling narrative content.
Proficiency in drafting, editing, and organizing detailed documents while maintaining consistency across multiple sections.
Ability to manage timelines, coordinate deliverables, and balance input from several stakeholders in a deadline-driven environment.
Experience handling data entry and compiling information with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively through a designated point of contact for information gathering.
