Job Description:

A growing entrepreneurial and mission-driven nonprofit is seeking an experienced Grant Writer to provide support on an as-needed basis. This is an opportunity to contribute to meaningful work while enjoying the flexibility of a part-time, remote role. The Grant Writer will be responsible for reviewing grant opportunities, assessing their viability, writing grant proposals, and collaborating with the Executive Director.

Job Responsibility:

  • Identify and review grant opportunities, determining their relevance and viability for the organization to pursue
  • Write compelling and tailored grant applications that align with the nonprofit’s mission and objectives
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to review and finalize grant proposals
  • Compile, organize, and submit requested documents within grant application portals
  • Maintain accurate documentation of grant applications and deadlines through consistent communication and record-keeping

Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Prior grant writing experience with a proven track record of success
  • Familiarity with Washington State (WA) grants and organizations
  • Proficiency with technology and the ability to quickly learn new online portals for grant submission processes
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities

Nice to have:

  • A passion for nonprofit work and its impact on community development
  • Basic knowledge of financial documents, such as profit and loss statements and expense reports
