Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Grant Administrator to join our team within the higher education sector in Columbia, South Carolina. This is a long-term contract position that offers an excellent opportunity to support grant-related processes, build relationships with faculty, and contribute to research administration. The ideal candidate will assist with pre-award grant projects, help identify funding opportunities, and ensure compliance with relevant requirements.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist in identifying and researching federal, state, local, and private grant opportunities to support institutional goals
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to build trust and provide support throughout the grant application process
  • Review grant proposals and budgets to ensure accuracy and compliance with funding agency guidelines
  • Maintain and update grant-related documentation using grant management software such as uCera
  • Prepare and distribute biweekly or monthly newsletters highlighting available grant opportunities
  • Monitor compliance requirements for grant renewals and assist with audits as needed
  • Provide administrative support for pre-award grant activities, including data entry and communication with stakeholders
  • Act as a liaison between the organization and funding agencies to ensure seamless communication
  • Enhance operational efficiency by identifying areas for improvement in grant-related processes

Requirements

  • Proven experience in grant administration, research administration, or a similar role
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local grant processes and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in administrative tasks such as data entry, communication, and organizational support
  • Familiarity with grant management software, such as uCera, or a willingness to learn
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with faculty and stakeholders
  • Ability to analyze and review budgets with attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare newsletters with a high level of accuracy and detail
