Job Description:

We are looking for a meticulous and skilled Grant Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Washington, District of Columbia. This role focuses on managing grant-related financial activities for non-profit organizations, ensuring compliance, and delivering accurate reporting. If you have expertise in Sage Intacct and a strong background in non-profit accounting, this opportunity offers a chance to make a meaningful impact.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee and reconcile accounts related to grant funding, ensuring compliance with non-profit accounting standards and donor requirements
Prepare detailed financial reports for grantors, adhering to specific reporting guidelines and timelines
Monitor and allocate grant funds, tracking restricted and unrestricted resources to ensure alignment with grant budgets
Conduct accounts payable and receivable reconciliations using Sage Intacct to maintain financial accuracy
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, focusing on grant-specific accounts and transactions
Collaborate with program managers and grant administrators to provide financial insights and support for awarded grants
Ensure compliance with government grant regulations and non-profit financial practices
Support audits and reviews by preparing documentation related to grant funding and expenditures
Develop and maintain effective processes for tracking and reporting grant activity
Contribute to strategic financial planning by analyzing grant performance and funding trends

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
Demonstrated experience in non-profit accounting with a focus on grant compliance and fund administration
Proficiency in Sage Intacct accounting software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
Strong knowledge of grant fund accounting practices and government grant regulations
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving capabilities
Clear and precise communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams
Familiarity with NAV (Net Asset Value) calculations and fund management processes
