Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Grant Accountant to support funding oversight and financial administration for a service-focused organization in Parma, Ohio. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can manage grant-related accounting with accuracy, maintain compliance with funding guidelines, and provide dependable financial reporting. The person in this role will contribute to daily accounting operations while helping the team address evolving workload needs, including support tied to system upgrade activities when required.

Job Responsibility

  • Oversee financial activity for grant-funded programs and ensure transactions are recorded accurately in accordance with funding terms.
  • Monitor grant balances, expenditures, and restricted funds to help maintain compliance and support sound budget management.
  • Prepare regular financial reports for internal stakeholders and funding sources, highlighting spending trends and available balances.
  • Reconcile accounts and review supporting documentation to confirm that grant-related entries are complete, accurate, and properly classified.
  • Assist with fund administration processes, including tracking award activity, maintaining records, and supporting audit readiness.
  • Use accounting systems such as Abila MIP to manage financial data and produce reporting tied to grant and fund activity.
  • Support accounting operations connected to increased workload during system upgrade efforts and related financial process adjustments.
  • Partner with internal teams to answer questions, resolve discrepancies, and strengthen financial controls around grant management.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in grant accounting, grant management, or fund administration.
  • Strong understanding of government grant compliance, funding restrictions, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency with Abila MIP and comfort working within accounting systems to manage grant-related data.
  • Knowledge of NAV and its relevance to financial reporting or fund oversight environments.
  • Ability to analyze account activity, perform reconciliations, and maintain a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a contract-based role.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with finance teams and program stakeholders.
