This role is integral to managing the financial aspects of grant funding, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting community health initiatives. As a Contract to permanent position, it offers a unique opportunity to transition into a long-term role while gaining valuable experience in the healthcare industry.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and deliver accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual grant-related statements, budget analyses, and expenditure summaries
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and private grant regulations, maintaining adherence to reporting standards and resolving any compliance issues
Collaborate with program managers to develop, monitor, and forecast grant-specific budgets, ensuring proper allocation of funds and indirect costs
Maintain general ledger accounts, perform journal entries, and reconcile grant accounts to ensure financial accuracy
Coordinate and provide necessary documentation for internal and external audits, including annual Single Audits and grant-related site visits
Manage systematic documentation and record-keeping for grant awards, proposals, and financial data, ensuring adherence to retention policies
Utilize accounting software and tools to track grant expenditures and generate detailed reports
Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for optimization within grant funding
Support the submission of federal reports using systems like the Payment Management System and Electronic Handbooks
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
advanced degrees are preferred
Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience, particularly within healthcare or non-profit organizations
Proficiency in accounting tools such as Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, or Oracle, along with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and federal regulations, including Uniform Guidance
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy in financial reporting
Analytical and problem-solving skills to address financial discrepancies and compliance issues
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders and grantors
Organizational abilities to manage multiple grants, deadlines, and competing priorities
