Job Responsibility

Develop and underwrite a profitable portfolio of Hull and War business within the Hull and War group
Structure solutions by considering team underwriting parameters and policies
Use underwriting knowledge and experience to win new business and retain existing clients
Monitor premiums, costs, and claims ratios per contract, taking corrective measures if necessary to ensure long-term profitability at the account level
Evaluate risk premiums by considering risk costs, reinsurance cessions, capital exposure, and general administration costs, using applicable rating models
Coordinate peer underwriters' activities to ensure profitability and efficient, cost-effective administration of the Hull and War account
Supervise assistants to ensure compliance with underwriting philosophy and policy, maintaining consistency within the team
Adhere to Beazley's underwriting control standards for business written through Lloyd's or Beazley's internal MGAs
Champion a collaborative relationship with the claims managers on this class of business
Produce business plans and research documents for the M&A account as needed
