Job Description:

Lawes is partnering with a Lloyds MGA specialising in Real Estate Insurance to recruit a Graduate Underwriting Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate looking to start their career in insurance within an underwriting environment. The successful candidate will support the Underwriters with managing the book of risks and handling a variety of administrative duties.

Job Responsibility:

  • Responsible for dealing with incoming calls and emails
  • Assisting Underwriters
  • Entering and processing risk information
  • Allocating premiums
  • Liaising with Underwriters and Brokers as needed
  • Prepare and issue insurance documents such as evidence of cover
  • Data entry and general administrative duties
  • Ad-hoc duties as needed

Requirements:

  • Degree educated or equivalent
  • An understanding of Insurance and a desire to continue to learn
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
  • Strong IT skills including all MS Office

  • Produce business plans and research documents for the M&A account as needed
