Job Description:

This position reports to the Manager Legal in the Risk Management and Communications Group. The successful candidate will provide support to the Bank in the management of and direct contributions from a legal perspective, review and advise on legal implications of internal policies and procedures and manage and coordinate the Bank’s approach towards litigation and other proceedings to which the Bank is party or potentially party. The candidate will contribute to the preparation of draft legislations, undertake legal research, participate in Committees and other fora of legal relevance, and liaise and manage relationships with other parties’ legal advisors/representatives and provide administrative support to the Financial Services Ombudsperson in managing complaints, ensuring timely resolution and compliance with procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Law (“LLB”)
  • Professional Diploma in Legal Practice (“PDLP”)
  • Admitted to the High Court of Fiji
  • Possess a valid practising certificate
  • Digitally literate and proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to write clearly and concisely
  • Maintain strict confidentiality
  • Good analytical, writing and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision while delivering timely results
  • Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with both internal and external parties
  • Attention to detail
