Rackham Graduate School seeks a GSSA to oversee and provide assistance with programming that supports our graduate student community. The Graduate Student Programming Coordinator GSSA is a new position with the Professional Development and Engagement (PDE) Office that will assist the Assistant Director of Professional Development and Engagement with the maintenance and creation of programs, resources, and initiatives related to assisting incoming students at Rackham, health and wellness, and financial education. The aim of the position is to coordinate programs that support different graduate student populations. Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Professional Development and Engagement Programming Coordinator GSSA will also assist with the curation of digital content, delivery systems, and podcasts for the graduate student community.
Job Responsibility:
Liaison with campus offices and internal departments at Rackham when called upon
Assist Assistant Director of Professional Development and Engagement with Grad School 101 Programming relating to health and wellness and financial education
Coordinate the GradWell Podcast Initiative
Conduct focus group/needs assessment with student affinity communities when necessary
Coordinate programs/workshops when needed
Create content for Grad School 101 Canvas portal for new students
Assist with other signature events and initiatives as needed
Attend team meetings
Draft documents and program materials when needed
Assist with the development of program evaluation tools
Generate outcome summary report.
Requirements:
Applicants must be currently registered in a Rackham graduate program
Preference will be given to doctoral students who have reached candidacy
Familiarity with the needs and challenges of graduate students
Previous experience with student support programming
Experience delivering programming in virtual formats, including familiarity with Canvas, Zoom, and other virtual platforms
Ability to work as part of a team and capacity to exercise independent initiative
Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to maintain confidentiality in matters of a sensitive and confidential nature
Ability to handle multiple projects with excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Strong organizational skills
Knowledge of personal computer productivity tools including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation and electronic communication, social media, podcasting and calendaring software packages.
Nice to have:
Experience leading and managing teams in a professional setting
Experience assessing needs and outcomes
Experience in creating, delivering and promoting podcasts is highly desirable
Previous experience with administration and facilitation of workshops and programs.
