GSI for AAS 322/ENVIRON 335 - INTRODUCTION TO ENVIRONMENT POLITICS: RACE, CLASS, AND GENDER. This course introduces students to global environmental politics, justice and development. It explores environmental issues around the world and the relatedness of nature to politics, development and culture.
Job Responsibility:
Attend all lectures and all assigned discussion sections
Be at lectures on time
Attend and be prepared for weekly planning meetings
Complete tasks assigned by instructor on time
Grade all assignments and examinations
Compute final grades
Provide feedback to students
Post regular weekly office hours and be present for duration
Set up equipment for lectures if needed
Keep attendance records and careful record of student grades
Be ready to assume responsibilities beginning August 31, 2026
Lead two discussion groups with enrollment limits of 25 per section
Requirements:
Familiarity with and course work at the graduate level dealing with the general subject matter of the course
Evidence of effective teaching
Ability to work well with students from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds
For ULWR course: must either take WRITING 993 concurrently or have already taken it previously
Graduate student in good standing in their degree program
For Terms I and II, must be registered for not less than six (6) credit hours (with advisor approval, five (5) credit hours may be acceptable)
