Job Description:

Graduate Pharmacy Interns at CVS Health will learn real-world pharmacy practice, gain hands-on experience, and develop skills in patient safety, quality assurance, drug utilization review (DUR), and error prevention. They will contribute to creating positive patient experiences and participate in pharmacy operations while increasing their accountability and responsibility.

Job Responsibility:

  • Following all company SOPs at each workstation
  • Managing pharmacy workflow procedures for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
  • Contributing to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy
  • Offering counseling and fielding medical questions under pharmacist supervision
  • Taking telephonic prescriptions and clarifying medication changes
  • Training and mentoring pharmacy team members
  • Completing inventory activities accurately
  • Adhering to relevant laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles
  • Contributing to a high-performing team dynamic
  • Providing patient health care services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing
  • Tracking and documenting patient data for vaccinations
  • Monitoring and responding to adverse vaccine reactions

Requirements:

  • PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health
  • Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe, per state guidelines
  • Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
  • Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
  • Customer service-oriented and actively look for ways to help people
  • Mathematical reasoning skills
  • Problem resolution skills
  • Physical ability to remain mobile, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform repetitive movements
  • Ability to receive detailed oral communication

Nice to have:

  • 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to become immunization certified
  • Ability to work in home store, and across the market in other locations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
