As a Macro Analyst on Susquehanna’s Research team, you will partner with our senior analysts and traders to identify investment opportunities and provide in-depth analysis of future volatility events. You will be responsible for finding opportunities that other market participants may not be capitalising on, either by discovering new information or considering existing knowledge from a different perspective. Macro Analysts are embedded in a sector-focused trading desk and the analysis you provide will directly impact trading decisions. This role provides the unique opportunity to combine the quantitative aspects of finance with creative problem solving in order to develop trade ideas in a fast-paced proprietary trading environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Identify and analyse investment opportunities in the equity and options markets
  • Provide real-time opinions on breaking news
  • Analyse upcoming catalyst events and provide opinions on the possible impacts to the market
  • Collaborate with derivative traders on investment ideas
  • Communicate effectively with traders and fellow analysts, relaying key information in your areas of coverage

Requirements:

  • Market Enthusiasts: Keeping up to date on current events and breaking news that affect the markets is something you naturally enjoy
  • Effective Communicators: excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must
  • Analytical + Logical: use analytical data and financial research skills
  • Problem Solvers: demonstrated interest in strategic games and/or competitive activities
  • Curious: excited by a career in the financial markets
  • Prior exposure to fundamental research is a plus
  • Confirmed plan to graduate by December 2026 with a degree in any discipline (most typically Finance and Economics), Distinction average WAM, from an Australian or New Zealand University
  • Visa sponsorship for work authorisation is not available for this position now or in the future

What we offer:
