Are you graduating in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Earth Sciences or a related discipline and looking to launch your career as a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer? Our client is a leading specialist in earthworks, quarry restoration, landfill engineering and major land development projects. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join their expanding technical team based in Warrington. The successful Graduate Geotechnical Engineer will benefit from hands-on training, technical mentoring and genuine opportunities for progression. Job Responsibility

  • Work closely with experienced engineers to support the design, monitoring and delivery of a wide range of projects, including: Earthworks and ground engineering schemes
  • Quarry restoration and development projects
  • Landfill and containment cell engineering
  • Infrastructure and access road design
  • Technical modelling and engineering calculations
  • Ground material assessment and validation
  • Site inspections and quality assurance activities

Requirements

  • Degree in a relevant discipline
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Interest in geotechnical engineering, earthworks or ground engineering
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence preferred

  • Contribute to large-scale, world-class mining projects including tailings, residue and waste storage facilities, water management infrastructure such as spillways, diversion channels and pipelines, and associated mining infrastructure
  • Plan, coordinate and report on field investigation programs (desktop studies, mapping, drilling, sampling and testing)
  • Analyse and design mine waste management facilities using tools such as GeoStudio, Rocscience and in-house software
  • Undertake hydraulic and hydrological modelling (TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, RORB, GoldSim)
  • Prepare engineering reports, drawings, specifications and bills of quantities using MS Office and AutoCAD
  • Monitor and supervise bulk earthworks construction and provide on-site technical advice
  • Support project delivery and client management activities
