Barnsley Council have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Environmental Health Officer to join the team based in Barnsley. You will join us on a full-time, fixed-term basis for 24 months. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £35,412 - £38,220 per annum. Regulatory Services at Barnsley protect the health, safety and well-being of those who live, work in and visit the borough, enabling local businesses to comply with their regulatory responsibilities and protecting consumers in the Borough. You will be part of a team of EHOs and other professionals who share out inspections, investigations and conduct project work to ensure an even playing field for businesses. As part of your professional studies, you will be expected to primarily work within the Pollution Control Team, but, also engage in all aspects of Environmental Health work to gain a wide varied knowledge of Environmental Health activities, which will assist in both completion of your professional qualification and provide support to the rest of the Service.

  • Becomes a Shipyard Competent Person (SCP)
  • Assists with the investigations of incidents to determine a cause and suggest prevention methods
