Job Responsibility

Under supervision of licensed engineer, develops structural engineering studies, plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents and assessments for commercial facilities, including new construction and renovation
Uses Revit and other structural-specific design and calculation software to create detailed designs for construction documents
Coordinates with code requirements to ensure proper construction practices are followed
Selects structural materials appropriate for facilities based on coordination with architects, engineers, plans, specifications and code requirements
Reviews construction shop drawings, performs site visits, and other construction administration activities
Assists upper-level engineers as directed while developing engineering skills
Writes technical engineering reports
Reviews and redlines production plans for revisions
Participates in and ensures QC/QA procedures are followed
Maintains accurate design standards and procedures in assigned work
