Job Description

Walter P Moore seeks well prepared graduates of top engineering schools to start and build their careers with our firm. A sound technical background and enthusiasm for the challenges of designing great structures, great client service and a proactive spirit are required.

Job Responsibility

  • Participate on project design teams for architectural projects of all types, including commercial, sports, healthcare, education, and public assembly buildings
  • Participate in our in-house staff development program

Requirements

  • Master’s in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural
  • EIT
  • Candidates must be proactive, have strong organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and work well with a team

Nice to have

Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a plus

  • Uses Revit and other structural-specific design and calculation software to create detailed designs for construction documents
  • Coordinates with code requirements to ensure proper construction practices are followed
  • Selects structural materials appropriate for facilities based on coordination with architects, engineers, plans, specifications and code requirements
  • Reviews construction shop drawings, performs site visits, and other construction administration activities

  • Writes technical engineering reports
  • Reviews and redlines production plans for revisions
