Requirements

  • Knowledge of civil infrastructure design including paving, drainage, water and sanitary sewer

  • Under licensed P.E. supervision, develops feasible engineering design alternatives to meet project requirements
  • Utilizes computer software to create detailed dimensional drawings and design layouts for land development and site plans, including but not limited to building footprint, travel ways, parking, grading, utility design, drainage facilities and erosion control
  • Develops 3D models of projects using horizontal alignments, vertical profiles, typical sections, and various design criteria
  • Calculates dimensions, square footage, profile and component specifications and material quantities using calculator or computer
  • Prepares reports, specifications, schedules and permitting for projects
  • Assists upper-level engineers as directed while developing engineering skills
  • Provides technical support and input in the resolution of project issues that may include performing field investigation or site inspections, detailed checking of design computations done by others, or general coordination of specific design aspects on a project
