Graduate Assistant-Applied Human Sciences

• Supervision of students enrolled in food preparation courses
• Assisting faculty/staff with laboratory tasks, maintenance, and/or supervision
• Supervise and maintain food safety and sanitation
• Supervise and maintain an efficient, clean, well-organized lab space including laundering linens, upkeep of composting efforts, and inventory
• Assistance with tasks related to Café Burrier, the student-run restaurant, in Fall semesters
• Assistance in food procurement and preparation
• Supervision of students in other lab spaces such as the sewing/textile labs
• Obtain a Food Handler’s Card/Certification for Madison County, Kentucky through the Madison County Health Department
• Aid in faculty research and course content development
• Create professional PowerPoint presentations
• Utilize Blackboard to create quizzes, assignments, and post course materials
• Grade assignments, quizzes, and other course requirements using a rubric
• Acts in compliance with University policies, procedures and standards

Must be enrolled at EKU.

• Preference for applicants with minimal daytime classes or clinical work
• Ability to work some evenings and weekend
• Food Handlers Card for Madison County Kentucky
• Reliable, consistent access to a working VEHICLE during work hours and valid driver's license.
