Job Description:

The town of Weymouth has a challenging opportunity for a Civil Engineer. The selected individual will have the following skills: Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering as they relate to public works projects. Knowledge of CAD, HydroCAD Software, ESRI GIS, and land surveying techniques. General knowledge of public works projects, materials and standard construction practices. Ability to operate surveying equipment and CAD software; design roadways, sewers, sidewalks, parking lots, drainage systems, and water mains; keep accurate and detailed notes and records; read and interpret plans, deeds, specifications, and codes and other engineering instruction documents; analyze and identify project problems and find solutions; and to work effectively with people.

Job Responsibility:

  • Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering as they relate to public works projects

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field
  • three years of design and/or field construction experience, preferably in the municipal field
  • or an equivalent combination of the required education and experience
  • Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Operator's license is required

Nice to have:

Certification as an Engineer in Training or Surveyor in Training is desirable
