Job Responsibility

Apply didactic learning from pharmacy school and pharmacy practice into real-world practice to become ready for a Pharmacist role
Complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation designed to further knowledge of store, district, and regional operations
Deepen understanding of patient safety and error prevention, quality assurance drug utilization review (DUR), pharmacy professional standards such as corresponding responsibility and red flag detection
Assist the pharmacy team to ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly, patients’ prescriptions filled promptly, safely, accurately, and provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations
Operate as part of the pharmacy team through consistent application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), best practices, and effective communication
Demonstrate empathy and genuine care, contribute to a safe and inclusive culture
Support management, oversight, and operations within the pharmacy including following SOPs, pharmacy workflow procedures, contributing to positive patient experiences, offering to counsel, taking telephonic prescriptions, maintaining self-awareness, completing basic inventory activities, contributing to a high-performing team, remaining flexible, complying with laws and regulations, delivering additional patient health care services
Support immunizations including completing additional licensure and training, educating patients, monitoring for adverse reactions, reviewing and collecting patient information

Requirements

Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to become immunization certified: Once state regulations are met, pharmacy interns should be striving to provide patient immunizations as this is an essential pharmacist function
Ability to work in home store, and across the market in other locations, to meet business needs
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
