Job Responsibility
Apply didactic learning from pharmacy school and pharmacy practice into real-world practice to become ready for a Pharmacist role
Complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation designed to further your knowledge of store, district, and regional operations
Deepen understanding of patient safety and error prevention, quality assurance drug utilization review (DUR), pharmacy professional standards such as corresponding responsibility and red flag detection
Assist the pharmacy team to ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly, patients’ prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately, and provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations
Learn to operate as part of the pharmacy team through consistent application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), best practices, and effective communication
Demonstrate empathy and genuine care, and contribute to a safe and inclusive culture
Take on greater accountability for supporting management, oversight, and operations within the pharmacy
Follow all company SOPs at each workstation
Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
Contribute to positive patient experiences
Offer to counsel, field medical questions, and solicit information on patient medical history to provide optimal care under direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist
Take telephonic prescriptions from prescriber, and call prescriber to clarify prescriptions or facilitate medication changes where allowed by state regulation
Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members while sharing best practices
Complete basic inventory activities as directed
Contribute to a high-performing team
Remain flexible for both scheduling and business needs
Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles
Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point-of-care testing, and voluntarily staffing offsite clinics) where allowable
Where permissible, support immunizations
Requirements
PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health
Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe, per state guidelines. Failure to obtain required Pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation will result in separation of employment
Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
Nice to have
1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to become immunization certified
Ability to work in home store, and across the market in other locations, to meet business needs
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
