Supportive team + AEA network opportunities (grow in GP or explore ECC). $27-$30/hr + penalties | Stable FT role with variety in every shift. Full-scope GP nursing – procedures, consult support + end-to-end patient care. About AEA: Animal Emergency Australia (AEA) is a national network of emergency veterinary hospitals, with a strong presence in 24/7 critical care. Alongside this, we have our GP footprint, creating real opportunities for our people to build flexible, long-term careers across both GP and ECC. We offer the best of both worlds: the support and scale of a national network, combined with the feel of locally led, empowered teams. Whether you want to deepen your clinical skills, explore emergency, or grow your career in a way that suits you, AEA provides the pathways, support, and autonomy to make it happen. Hope Island Vet one of the AEA practices, is a busy, community-focused GP clinic where teamwork, quality care, and consistency are at the centre of everything we do. You’ll be part of a supportive, down-to-earth team who take pride in delivering great outcomes for patients and building strong relationships with clients. Why this GP Vet Nurse role? Join a supportive clinic where you’ll be hands-on across the full patient journey, from admission through to discharge, while working alongside a great team (and holding your own when needed). Your day-to-day You’ll be hands-on across all aspects of GP nursing, including: Monitoring anaesthesia and assisting with procedures; Managing end-to-end patient care (admission → recovery → discharge); Collecting samples + running in-house pathology; Supporting consults and routine procedures; Triaging patients (including occasional wildlife); Delivering great care and building strong client relationships. What you’ll bring: Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing (essential); 1–2+ years’ experience in a GP clinic; Confidence working both independently and within a team; Solid clinical nursing skills + strong animal handling; Great communication and a calm, adaptable approach; Reliable, organised, and comfortable in a busy environment. IDEXX + EzyVet experience a bonus, not a must. What’s in it for you: Competitive pay + penalty rates; Supportive team with strong clinical standards; Access to AEA’s wider network + development opportunities; Real variety in your day (no two shifts the same); A workplace that genuinely values its people.
