Job Responsibility:
Providing financial staffing and related consulting support to public sector clients (cities, villages, libraries, K-12 school districts, etc…)
Assisting our public clients with their accounting and finance functions including bank reconciliations, budget development, perform year-end close of financial records and preparation for annual audit, and related support
Verifies, allocates, and posts details of client transactions to subsidiary accounts in journals or computer files from documents, such as bank statements, invoices, receipts, check stubs, and computer printouts
Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting client transactions
Working independently or in teams to improve client accounting operations including drafting policies and procedures
Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and equity, and prepares balance sheet, statement of revenues and expenditures, and other reports to summarize current and projected financial position
Collaborating with other consultants and clients for continuous improvement recommendations
Training and development opportunities for professional, personal and technical growth
Requirements:
Detail-oriented leader with problem solving, communication, organizational, technical and analytical skills
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in accounting
or Master's degree in accounting or tax
Academic success (a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0)
Nice to have:
On track to complete the requisite degree and supporting credits to sit for the CPA or CIA exam, with the goal of successfully obtaining the CIA or CPA license
